This week challenge comes from Xio Axelrod We're to tell you about our favorite Christmas Carol.
You can understand how it's hard for me to pick a favorite. I managed to narrow it down to a few. I love the Carol of the Bells by almost anyone (this one by the Pentatonix), and Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time by Paul MacCartney. But ultimately, I think my favorite is Haul Out the Holly. I first heard this song when I was in tenth grade choir and we had to sing it for our Christmas Chorale program. Years later, when I was watching Mame, with Lucille Ball and Robert Preston, I heard it again and fell back in love with it. The lyrics perfectly describe me at Christmas, impatient, ready for the holiday, putting up strings of lights, in need of a little laughter, ringing through the rafters. You can't help but be happy when you hear this song. Give it a little listen here:
That's it for me for now. Thanks for dropping by and be sure to continue hopping over to A.S. Fenichel's for more holiday music fun and memories.
