It was such great company. I was honored to attend a ceremony that celebrated the well deserved happily ever after for an exceptional young couple. They were so excited to share their moment with family. And truly, everyone in attendance has been treated like cherished loved ones by the couple and their parents. I love these celebrations of life.
For the past six days, A & P (you didn’t think I’d use their names, did you?) represented the exact reason I write the type of novels that I do. My novels acknowledge the hope and promise of love and marriage. I write books that recognize a commitment made, a pledge to love one another for eternity. The love between two people can overcome adversity, hardships and obstacles on the path to happiness. Love that evolves from shiny and new to comfortable and still passionate. Personally, I believe in happily ever after and this couple embodied it for me.
The love in A & P’s voices and words when they exchanged vows was electrifying. I felt the warmth of their embrace when they accepted my congratulations. Their sincerity when they each expressed how much it meant to them to have me be a part of their celebration warmed my heart. And when they each texted my daughter, a member of their wedding party, thanking her for participating and for being a loving supportive friend, tears blurred my vision. They love each other in a way big enough to encompass everyone they touch.
I believe A & P will survive any challenges or sadness they might have to face by uniting in the love they share for each other and family. And they will face them, just as every couple does. Life is so much more than a board game. But, it’s easy to imagine them riding off toward happily ever after. Their adventure is just beginning.
