So I chucked my Pollyanna hat on and resolved to change things. This is a wondrous time of year, and I have always celebrated every aspect of it. No matter how busy, or what else was going on in my life. And I am busy wearing many hats; writer, promoter, wife and mom, special projects coordinator, friend, athlete (that's a sad looking hat), cheerleader, etc. So far, after the wife and mom hat, Pollyanna is my favorite. It's my shiny and hopeful hat, the one trimmed in sunshine and pretty ribbons. It also sits easiest on my head. I made myself say goodbye to feelings gripping me and turn my attitude around.
The decorating isn't finished yet, I'm stuck in the middle of my current story and my tummy isn't getting any smaller. But the word from Pollyanna is that everything will be okay. I'll finish putting up Christmas this week (it's close - just look at that picture), I have a writing date this afternoon with a dear friend, and I'm going to a group exercise class at the gym where I work part-time in an hour.
Can't you just see Pollyanna's bright eyes and dimpled smile?
