I'm very excited about this week's questions from J.J.Devine. J.J.'s novel about vampires and witches, Into The Darkness, released in July. Have you had a chance to read it yet?

1. You’re moving right along with a storyline and suddenly it takes an unexpected twist. Do you go with the flow and follow where the twist leads you or do you conform your story to your way? It's funny, but that had never really happened to me before I wrote Exposed To Passion. In that story, an old man I wanted to be grumpier than Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men, turned into this sweet, pussycat of a man. After I was done being angry at him, I just sort of embraced it and let it flow. Now, I'm considering giving him a short story of his very own.

2. What time of year is your best time for writing? Winter, Summer, Fall, Spring? I love fall so much I find it easy to write. I think the colors and scents stimulate my creativity. I find writing easy any time of the year, but I focus more in the fall.

3. When looking for apublisher do you chose a traditional press, indie route, or one that does both, ebook and print? I chose to sign with a small house even though they at the time they were only doing digital releases. I was fortunate to be one of the first titles they moved to Print On Demand. I was so excited when it happened. I've always wanted to see my book at least on my own shelf. I've been fortunate to have a local bookstore carrying my books. Two of my titles, Cooking Up Love and Hearts in Harmony are out in print now, and the third should release in print at the same time as the digital release on October 20th. I imagine the thrill of seeing my name in print will never get old. Now that my publisher has been bought by Kensington I'm one step closer to being in libraries and Barnes & Nobles.

Agreed, Collette. I'm sure an individual who hasn't written a book might get that analogy, but I just think it's super special.

Gemma! that is so exciting to have your books in a book store! I love that pic! Keep it forever! And Fall was always my favorite time of year when I lived up North. It still is technically, but we don't get the fall tree colors and whatnot down here like we did in MD. It's one of the few things I miss about living up there. <3

Thanks, Jo. I definitely plan to keep that picture. I might even get it tattooed on my body somewhere LOL. Except I don't like needles. I'm sorry you don't get the colors where you live, but I'll bet the winter-time trade off is worth it.

Sometimes characters just will not be as we plan them! :D But then the best characters are always the ones that are unexpected!
