Five Facts about Lynn Cahoon
Fact #1 - My first book, The Bull Rider’s Brother was published three years ago on June 4th, 2012. Since then I’ve learned a lot about the craft of writing and the ease of storytelling. I moved from romance to killing people (in my stories) with little effort. Currently the Tourist Trap series has six books available for order and pre-order and I have contracted to write at least three more.
Fact #2 – I’ve had over twenty different jobs in my lifetime, from housecleaner, to milk bottle machine attendant, to trainer, or supervisor, and finally author. Some sucked more than others, especially topping corn and watching the machine push out plastic milk bottles FOR EIGHT HOURS A DAY. But the top two best were being a grant writer for a small non-profit and, of course, being an author.
Fact #3-I’m probably good at doing a lot of things because I went to a small high school. I played band, marched in color guard, was president of our local chapter and district vice president of Future Homemakers of American, and part of Office Occupations of America. I was one of two from our school to attend Girls’ State where we learned all about how a government works. Including all the petty backstabbing. But I got to meet Governor Evans. The South Cove characters deal with the same issues because most of them have two jobs, just to make ends meet.
Fact #4 – I love traveling. After this summer, I’ll have visited NYC three times. I love it there. The streets are vibrant and there’s a hum in the air. Like my spring break trip to the central California coast that started my Tourist Trap series, I always feel like there’s a story there. Waiting for me.
Fact #5 – I’m a bit of a country girl at heart. Last summer I bought my first pair of cowboy boots that I wear when we’re 4-wheeling. I adore my cowboy. And I love a good pair of Wranglers on a man.
Let's take a look at her upcoming cozy mystery release, Dressed To Kill, which is available for preorder now, and will release on June 23 (That's next week, people. Go grab your copy now!)
Jill Gardner—owner of Coffee, Books, and More in the tucked-away town of South Cove, California—is not particularly thrilled to be portraying a twenties flapper for the dinner theater murder mystery. Though it is for charity…
Of course everyone is expecting a “dead” body at the dress rehearsal…but this one isn’t acting! It turns out the main suspect is the late actor’s conniving girlfriend Sherry…who also happens to be the ex-wife of Jill’s main squeeze. Sherry is definitely a master manipulator…but is she a killer? Jill may discover the truth only when the curtain comes up on the final act…and by then, it may be far too late.
