I was thinking about time the other day, how the speed at which it moved changed over my life. Lately, time just flies by. But I bet it isn't that way for soldiers and their families. I watched Act Of Valor last night. I'm a sucker for a Navy SEAL movie or book (Suzanne Brockmann still reigns as my favorite author). By the end of the movie, time had become a huge consideration. For some the minutes and days dragged into infinity. For others, time stood still. For the family who'd lost someone they loved in the blink of an eye, time and life as they knew it ended. And yes, I bawled like a baby over that. I also cry when I see a video about a soldier returning to his family. But those are happy tears.
I guess what I'm saying is cherish the time you get with loved ones. And when you see a soldier, be sure to thank him or her for willingly taking time away from their loved one to protect you.
